About

Close by the Baglan brook from which the village derives its name and set amidst large old trees, the towering spire of St Catharine’s, reaching for the sky, presents an impressive sight to the visitor.

Built in 1875 by the renowned architect John Prichard, the church has been described as of exceptional architectural interest, housing an opulent interior complete with mosaic floors, carved marble pulpit and reredos.

As one of the most complete and ambitious churches of the Victorian High Gothic period this really is a treasure.
