Set atop a hill in the centre of Aberdare, St Elvan’s, built in 1851 and extended in 1910, certainly dominates its surroundings both from its lofty position and from its dramatic profile.
This Gothic church houses an interior, rich in intricate details from the Arts and Crafts movement and the High Gothic designs of the time, has drawn the admiration of visitors for many years.
Most recently the church has undergone an extensive reordering and now boasts an exhibition space and café to add to its many other attractions.

Wheelchair accessible.
No parking in churchyard apart from one disabled space. Drop off in church yard available for visitors with access needs. There is a pay & display car park for all immediately below St Elvan's in the adjacent High Street car park.
