About
This ancient church sits high on a hilltop with a spectacular view. A church may have existed on the site as far back as the 6th century.
In 1894 when architect George Halliday undertook its restoration 300 skeletons were uncovered - possibly casualties of a nearby Civil War battle.
The church contains a fine collection of Victorian stained glass as well as some interesting 18th/19th-century wall monuments and a fragment of Early Christian sculpture.

A churchyard monument commemorates Guto Nyth Bran (died 1737) in whose memory the annual Nos Galan race is run.
