Situated on a hilltop site the churchyard alone is worth a visit for the spectacular views over the Rhymney Valley and beyond.
The church has an unusual dedication to St Sannan, an Irish saint who died in AD544.
This is a well-preserved large though restored medieval church with an unusual plan.
Restored by WG Habershon in 1859 and G Halliday 1905 with vestry and fittings by EP Warren in 1910.

Many windows have fine 19th/early 20th-century stained glass. Nearby you can visit St Sannan’s holy well.
