About
On the site of the 5th-century martyrdom of St Tydfil. Entire church rebuilt 1895-1901 to designs by J L Pearson.
The interior has been described as ‘a beautiful evocation of a Burgundian Romanesque church of the 12th century.
Furnishings include a medieval octagonal font; Pearson’s round, panelled pulpit; pelican window and good neo-classical wall monuments (from earlier church).
Two Early Christian carved stones sit against north wall, one being the famous ring-cross incised pillar stone of Artbeu; the other the Annicius stone.
