About
St George's is listed as one of the more substantial and individual Anglican churches of the Rhondda and with an imposing tower, and as a good example of the work of Halliday.
It is a Gothic style Grade 2 listed building built1895-6 by G E Halliday.
The church has a tremendous reredos and also, at the back of church, a full immersion baptistry, one of only four, we believe, in an Anglican Church in Wales.
It has an open timber hammer beam-type roof. Chancel fittings include a pink alabaster reredos by Halliday and carved by Clarke of Llandaff and an unusual corner piscina in South East window splay.

The Welsh slate roof has crucifix finials and the South West porch has a four-centred arched doorway with decorative spandrels and later metal gates; above is a small moulded niche with a freestanding figure of St George under a false half-gabled coping.
St George's has recently been made fully wheelchair accessible.
